Amber Iller was born and raised in the Manchester, NH area. She grew up doing many of the things she still loves doing today including camping, hiking, snowboarding, going to the beach, creating art, sports and exercise and spending time with loved ones. Amber’s passion for helping others began in her teenage years. The transition from high school to college along with changing family dynamics presented it's challenges for Amber. The combination of these events peaked her interest in learning about psychology and mental health, particularly in children.
Amber Iller graduated with a bachelor's degree in family studies from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. She completed her masters degree in clinical social work from Boston University in 2008. She has worked at a variety of settings including a residential treatment center for adolescent girls, service coordination roles for a non-profit agency as well as providing therapy at an out-patient mental health center. It has been a lifetime goal of Amber’s to build her own private practice. In 2015 this goal became a reality! Amber’s private practice started in Melrose, Massachusetts before moving to Londonderry, New Hampshire in 2018.
The pandemic beginning in 2020 created distress for all individuals and families in one way or another. This distress became a catalyst to Amber exploring how she could diversify her services and offer as much support as she could to the families in her community. She is excited to continue offering individual and family therapy as well as additional services including workshops, presentations and consultations. Amber’s approach is strength based, child centered and uses a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, expressive arts, as well as narrative therapy. She works collaboratively with families in a goal driven, solution focused manner to achieve goals set forth with the family.
